Something Is Missing

...now that we're in the south of Spain. They were so common up north, we hardly noticed them after a while, even though they made quite an impression at first.

Can you see them in this photo?

In case you can't, I'll give you an enlargement after the jump.

Storks. Their voluminous nests can be spotted atop tall structures everywhere in northern Spain. They supposedly bring good luck; otherwise they might be regarded as pests, because they do defecate copiously. People often set out special platforms for them to build upon.

From Wikipedia:

A carnivore, the white stork eats a wide range of animal prey, including insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, small mammals and small birds. It takes most of its food from the ground, among low vegetation, and from shallow water.
