One-Eyed Car

Nice little transportation museum, mostly about cars, in Salamanca.


I've never been a car guy, but I enjoy cars as feats of design. Three more photos within.
The car in the photo above looks maimed, doesn't it? I suspect that cars have two headlights, at least in part, because humans have two eyes. 

For many of us, our cars aren't just machines. They're members of our family; we sometimes give them names. Given the phenomenon of pareidolia, we would prefer that they had faces. Therefore two headlights beaming above a smiling bumper look right to us.

Mm, look at that yellow paint job! I sure do love the color yellow. I think it's the most underrated color.

I also love the jaunty lines of the cab on this Model T:


Look how close to the ground the car below rides. It could only drive on a perfectly flat surface like a race course.

It was made by a company called Hispano Suiza. I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that the company is/was a collaboration between Spanish and Swiss engineers.
